Dr. Nonita watches a whole feed, examines your breasts and nipples and can weigh your baby before and after a feed to see what is really transferring, which replaces guesswork with a number. Outcomes vary from mother to mother and nobody can promise you a supply, so the aim is to get the most out of what is possible for you, honestly and without guilt. If supply does not respond the way we would expect, she will tell you clearly that it is time to take it to your own doctor.

Most breastfeeding help is hands-on coaching: latch, positioning, milk removal and a plan you can actually follow at 3am. That is the bulk of the work and it is what most mothers need. Seeing a doctor changes what happens at the edges. Dr. Nonita can examine your breasts and nipples, watch a full feed and weigh your baby before and after it to see how much milk is transferring. She can tell you whether a medicine you are already taking is safe to continue while you nurse. Most of all, she knows when a feeding problem is no longer only a feeding problem.
